Article: How should a co-ord set fit when the top and bottom are sized separately

How should a co-ord set fit when the top and bottom are sized separately

Choose the top from your chest, and the bottom from your waist and hips. Two separate choices on one order, so the size on the top does not have to match the size on the bottom.

Every set is sized this way, XXS to 5XL on each piece. The full range is under sets.

How do we choose the top size?

Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level across your back. Take the row in the fit guide where that number sits. That row is your top size.

How do we choose the bottom size?

Measure your natural waistline, the narrowest point between your ribs and hips. Then measure the fullest part of your hips, with the tape parallel to the floor. Every row of the chart pairs a waist with a hip, so read across and take the row your two numbers land in.

If they land in different rows, write to us before ordering rather than guessing. The pieces are also listed on their own under tops and bottoms.

What does ease mean here?

Ease is the room a garment leaves over your body measurement. Each style is cut to one of four fits, and the name of the fit tells you how much room to expect.

Fit Ease How it sits
Contour 2 inches Close to the body, following your shape
Classic 6 inches Room to move, no cling
Relaxed 9 inches Loose through the body, soft drape
Oversized 10 inches Cut to fall away from the body

The fit belongs to the style, not to the size, so it is not something you pick at checkout. If you want a closer bottom, look for a style cut Contour or Classic rather than sizing the bottom down.

What do the numbers in the fit guide describe?

Your body, not the garment. Find your own measurements there, then add the ease of the fit to know what the finished piece will measure.

A 35 inch chest in a Classic top finishes at 41 inches around. The same body in an Oversized top finishes at 45. The measurement did not change. The cut did.

What if you fall between two sizes?

Size down for a neater fit, and up for more ease. That rule holds across all four fits, because the room is built into the cut rather than into the size you pick.

If you would rather not decide alone, send us the style name through contact before you order and we will send you the garment measurements for it.

What does a real pair of measurements look like?

  1. A 35 inch chest sits on the S row of the fit guide. The top is S.
  2. A 40 inch hip sits on the M row. The bottom is M.
  3. The two pieces come one size apart, on one order. That is the ordinary case rather than an awkward one.
  4. Now read the fit named on the style. In Classic that top finishes at 41 inches across the chest. In Contour it finishes at 37.

Does the fabric change how it fits?

The ease stays the same. How the cloth hangs does not.

  • Cotton, woven five ways: poplin, double cloth, Kala cotton, slub and chambray. Poplin is thin, breathable and absorbs moisture. Kala cotton is handspun and handwoven in Kutch, with a soft rustic texture. See cotton.
  • Denim, breathable and durable, holding a shape rather than following yours. See denim.
  • Tweed, a cotton woollen houndstooth, structured through the shoulder. The range is archived at the moment and returns for the cooler months.

Care follows the cloth rather than the fit, and the line for each style sits on its own product page.

How does the exchange work?

One free size exchange per order, with a prepaid pickup, requested within 7 days of delivery. Write to us through contact with your order number, the piece you want to change and the size you would like instead, and we arrange the pickup from the delivery address.

We do not offer returns. Every piece is cut after the order is placed. Dispatch takes 5 to 7 working days, and shipping across India is complimentary. More on how we work is in our story.

What else do people ask?

Can the top and bottom be different sizes?

Yes. Each piece carries its own size from XXS to 5XL, and they arrive as one order.

Are the fit guide numbers my body or the garment?

Your body. The ease of the fit is added on top, so a Classic top on a 35 inch chest finishes at 41.

Should I size up if I am between sizes?

Down for a neater fit, up for more ease. The room is already in the cut, so the rule does not change with the fit.

What if the exchange size is also wrong?

The free exchange is one per order. Send us the style name through the contact page before the first order and we will send you the garment measurements for it.
